July 30

We have been told we may be leaving Casa Colina next week. Zack is very excited to go home. We still have a lot to do to get ready for him. Please pray we can get this van conversion done quickly. When we checked the measurements with Zack in his wheelchair, he's 2" too tall, his head would hit the roof inside! We are trying to make it work. We are ordering all his necessary equipment and medical supplies for home too. Definitely a bit overwhelming.

On a fun note, Zack gets a day pass on Sunday and we will be visiting one of the families we've met at their house for a BBQ. Zack got to do pool therapy the other day and loved being in the water!

I also wanted to say THANK YOU to all the people who have been bringing meals to us. It's REALLY a huge help. Love, Amber

Pic Update.... Construction

These are various pics of the construction on the house. Bathroom, walkways and new ramp. A HUGE thank you to all who volunteered with everything on the house!

Zack's Handwritten Note

This is the first thing that Zack has written since the accident in his own hand. He wrote it in Occupational Therapy and "for the record" (per Zack), it's says MOM, not Mommy -- Zack said he was trying to make a comma. Haha!

UPDATE 5p: It was brought to my attention that you may be wondering how Zack wrote the letter with no finger or hand movement -- he wears wrist braces and then a pen is inserted into the brace. Using a felt tip pen, he wrote this first note. He is learning how to manipulate his fingers to do what he wants (i.e., typing on a keyboard), but you really have to see it to understand. He's amazing. ~Amber

Update... Pics from Rehab

Here's Zack at Physical and Occupational Therapy, the standing table and stand frame, group therapy, and Zack eating on his own.
